Meeting of Hungarian and Croatian Chiefs of Defence

On Wednesday, October 19 Gen. Tibor Benkő, the Chief of the MoD Defence Staff received Lt.-Gen. Drago Lovric, the Chief of the Croatian Armed Forces General Staff on an official border visit.

The Hungarian and the Croatian Chiefs of Defence first conducted closed-door talks for 30 minutes, which was followed by a plenary discussion followed between the two countries’ delegations. High on the agenda of the plenary meeting were the current issues of interoperability with regard to the Special Forces, in particular their service with the NATO ISAF mission in Afghanistan.

The Croatian Chief of Defence was given a comprehensive briefing on the establishment of the National Public Service University and the future of NCO training in Hungary. The further topics of discussion included the cooperation between the air surveillance and control systems (ASACS) and flight control units as well as the possibilities for exchanging experiences about the maintenance and flight safety of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
