Water Distribution Is a Temporary Solution
Szöveg: honvedelem.hu | 2013. január 12. 10:02The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of the Interior jointly take care of those communities where the quality of drinking water does not meet the standards of the European Union, Lajos Fodor said at Kajdacs, Tolna County.
As from January 1, the soldiers of the Hungarian Defence Forces transport healthy drinking water for 340,000 residents of 123 communities. The experiences of the first days are good, the population received the soldiers favorably – said the State Secretary for Public Administration of the Ministry of Defence while inspecting the work being done by the soldiers participating in the task “Waterspring-2013".
Lajos Fodor added that the distribution of water from water trucks and in bags was a temporary solution, and that the water would be purified on the spot in the long run. To this end, the water purification containers are already in the making, of which close to 2,000 will be installed.
After visiting the community in Tolna County, the State Secretary for Public Administration of the Ministry of Defence traveled to Izsák, where he inspected the bagging of healthy drinking water and then met the soldiers of the HDF 25th ‘Klapka György" Infantry Brigade of Tata, who were distributing water in Kiskőrös.
