The Hungarian Peacekeeper Has Saved a Life

In all probability, a Cypriot man owes his life to a Hungarian peacekeeper. The first warrant officer serving with the UNFICYP mission as a support NCO was driving her service car when a motorcyclist traveling in front of her crashed into a car. The Hungarian peacekeeper kept the injured man in a stable condition until the ambulance arrived on the scene.

They Did Their Best in the Extraordinary Situation

Expedition Leaves For the Former Airfield

The Hungarian expedition that left Szolnok for Ilovskoye, Russia on August 13 comprises soldiers and civilians. During the 11-day field trip, the researchers and historians are going to comb those former sites on the one-time Eastern front that played an important role in the history of Hungarian aviation and the legal predecessors of the HDF 86th Szolnok Helicopter Base.

Only a Few Days Left in the Area of Operations…

EOD Team Used Hook and Line Kit to Remove IED From Tanker Truck

Last weekend, Hungarian and Afghan EOD technicians saved the lives of hundreds by removing a magnetic bomb from a tanker truck filled up with 16,000 liters of kerosene in downtown Pol-e Khomri. The commander of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) and the chief of the EOD cell told us the story.

Explosion and Fire Would Have Led to Tragedy

Fortunately, the EOD technicians of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) and the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) were able to disarm the improvised explosive device (IED) that unknown perpetrators had emplaced on a tanker truck near Camp Pannonia in Pol-e Khomri, Afghanistan last weekend.
