Commemoration and Inauguration of Memorial Site in Kabul

On November 1, All Saints’ Day, we inaugurated in Kabul a memorial site where those serving in the area of operations can pay tribute to their dead, their comrades killed in action. The commemoration took place in the Community Center where the weekly Masses are celebrated. Most soldiers of the contingent participated in the event, augmented with the personnel of the Hungarian National Support Element, and in addition to the KAIA Chief Master Sergeant, the commander of the camp also honored the event with his presence.

In his commemorative speech, Padre Tamás pointed out that life is worth living only if you can say any day that it has been worth living.

After the ceremony, the commemorators participated in the blessing and inauguration of a wooden headboard. Besides Padre Tamás, CPL T. gave great help with the arrangement of the memorial site and the carving of the wooden headboard. Special thanks go for their assistance to CPL K. and L., a person born in Transylvania who works as a civilian in the camp. After the blessing, the participants commemorated their dead by lighting lights.
