Consultation on the Swedish-Hungarian Military-to Military Relations

During the meeting they have noted that the Swedish-Hungarian military-to-military relations have been further strengthened, which contributes significantly to the development of the service branches of the Hungarian Defence Forces.

The key element of the bilateral defence co-operation is the Gripen-program, at the same time taking into account the objectives of the National Defence and Armed Forces Development Program, it would be worthwhile examining, how to involve the Swedish defence technology into the upgrading of the Hungarian defence industry. Hungary’s aim is not only to be thought of as buyers, but to participate in the manufacture of military products, in order to strengthen and grant development opportunities to the domestic industrial firms – highlighted Tibor Benkő.

The Minister requested Madam Ambassador to facilitate the efficient co-operation between the two countries, as Hungary remains open to the further development of relations.
