Six-Day Visit to KFOR-6 HUNCON

Led by Lt.-Col. Miklós Tajti, the Deputy Chief of the HDF Joint Force Command Operations Control Directorate, a pre-deployment site survey (PDSS) team of the planned 7th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent recently visited Camp Slim Lines, Pristina.

Lt.-Col. András Polyák, the commander of the KFOR-6 HUNCON received the visitors and informed them about the completed tasks of the contingent and the tasks ahead.

Maj. Péter Szabó, the operations chief of the contingent continued the series of presentations, then Maj. Zoltán Kévés, the support chief of the contingent finished it. In what followed, the visitors had opportunity to go and see the key sites of the area of operations. They got to know the points of contact and their duties in their own planned positions.

Maj. Barnabás Bartók, the designated operations chief of the next rotation gained first-hand experience of the chain of command and task scheme of the joint Portuguese–Hungarian KTM staff. Capt. László Süvegh, the designated support chief was introduced to the logistic system of the contingent. Capt. Dániel Mészáros, the commander of the rotating infantry company gained useful experience of the deployment of the company in operations. The sixth rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent was doing its best to share all experience with the members of the next rotation.

“The purpose of the PDSS was to analyze the lessons learned in the area of operations, so that we can incorporate them into the training programs in Hungary" – Lt.-Col. István Kása, the designated commander of the seventh rotation told us, adding that he deemed the six-day visit successful and useful.
