The HDF Provincial Reconstructtion Team (HDF PRT) has implemented a priority project in the field of infrastructure: with the construction of a new bridge, the Hungarian contingent has helped four villages, thousands of people in Dushi district, the centre of Baghlan province.

HDF PRT To Hand Over A New Clinic

The HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HDF PRT) has successfully completed one of the most important medium term projects in the last period. An inaugural ceremony was held to open a new clinic in the village of Shek Jalal in Baghlani Jadid district, the construction of which has been financed by the HDF PRT. In the future the Afghan Ministry of Health will fund the operation of the hospital.

Hungarian Efforts For The Education Of Afghan Children

The troops of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HDF PRT) had an extraordinary experience at the last handover ceremony, where a new school was opened in a town in Jelga province. The new school was built in Yarme Ulya by the HDF PRT in cooperation with the Afghan Ministry for Rural Development.

Real Winter Has Arrived In Afghanistan As Well

Similarly to the winter weather in Hungary, the real cold, snowy and icy time of the year has arrived to Baghlan province as well, the area of responsibility of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HDF PRT). In just a few days, 30–50 centimetres of snow has fallen all across the province, and the temperature is still below the freezing-point.

HDF PRT To Support The Construction Of Protective Walls

The troops of the HDF PRT paid a visit to Khinjan province in connection with two wall construction projects. One of the ceremonies was the laying of the foundation stone of the protective wall to be built around the clinic constructed by the HDF PRT in 2007, the other event was a handover ceremony held on the occasion of the completion of a wall around a girls’ school.

Hungarian Firefighters In Baghlan

The camp of the HDF PRT has to be protected not only from possible armed attacks but it is at least as important to have someone to ‘fight the battle’ with the sources of danger lying in wait inside. Such risk factors are the fires that accidentally break out in the camp.

Water Supply With Hungarian Support In Baghlan

One of the most significant projects of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HDF PRT) has entered its final phase. It was the fourth rotation of the HDF PRT that launched a medium term project in Pol-e-Khomri, the provincial capital of Baghlan, to find a solution for the water supply of one of the districts of the town.

Making Donations In Regions The Troops Have Not Seen For A Long Time

The troops of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HDF PRT) have endeavoured to make a long journey in Afghanistan. The Hungarian soldiers visited Pol-e-Hesar, one of the distant districts of their area of responsibility. The district that is 170 kilometres from Camp Pannonia is difficult to approach due to bad road and terrain conditions, therefore the Hungarian convoys can only rarely get to this area.

Well-Earned Rest Waiting For Them

The 40-strong reinforcement platoon has performed its duty in Afghanistan and after four months of foreign service, the contingent has left the operational area. The platoon arrived to the operational area in the summer, when the sixth rotation of the HDF PRT was on duty, and they were working in close cooperation with the guard and security company of the Reconstruction Team.
