The 18th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-18 HUNCON) has already been about halfway through their period of service in Kosovo. The Hungarian soldiers stationing in Camp Novo Selo have performed serious assignments in the past three months. The second or BRAVO Manoeuvre Company is counted as special: they have performed duties, only very few had the opportunity to perform until now.

Dancon March: for the first time this year

The second weekend of April started with unusual sounds in the KFOR Novo Selo camp. As the music grew louder, so increased the bustle and noise at the campsite. More and more soldiers in uniform, with rucksack and body armour appeared at the previously established control points. The time has come again for the Danish Contingent March.

The First Ones…

The soldiers serving with the first, Alpha Company of the 18th rotation of the HDF KFOR Contingent (KFOR-18 HUNCON) have already been deployed in the Kosovo area of operation for more than a month. Here the word “first” does not only refer to their designation in the nomenclature but also to the fact that the entire personnel of the company arrived among the first ones in the area of operation. Furthermore, they were the first ones to successfully achieve Full Operational Capability (FOC); and they were the first ones to start performing patrol and standby duties.

End of International Exercise Allied Spirit VI

The large-scale Exercise Allied Spirit VII – organized by the US 7th Army Training Command’s Joint Multinational Readiness Center (Hohenfels, Germany) – has recently ended. On the exercise, the Hungarian Defence Forces were represented by the 3rd Bercsényi Miklós Infantry Battalion of the HDF 5th Bocskai István Infantry Brigade and its module elements, with 69 personnel on strength.
