HUN PRT-12: Ready for the Mission

The soldiers of the incoming 12th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-12) recently mounted a culmination exercise (CULEX) to demonstrate their readiness to deploy on a mission abroad. Most of the contingent has been drawn from the HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade of Hódmezővásárhely.

Dr. Csaba Hende Visited Afghanistan

The delegation led by the Minister of Defence Dr. Csaba Hende, which paid a five-day visit to the Hungarian military units serving in Afghanistan, arrived at the Debrecen Airport on Saturday, December 10. The Minister of Defence heard eight commander’s reports in four garrisons and seven bases, and held six staff meetings. The Minister was briefed about the security situation and tasks of our troops, and had talks with the Commander of the NATO Training Mission Afghanistan (NTM-A), with the Deputy Commander and the Hungarian Chief of Staff of ISAF Regional Command North (RC North), as well as with the Governor of Baghlan Province.

Meeting of Hungarian and New-Zealand Soldiers

The members of the patrol of the 11th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) sent out to Tala-wa Barfak District reached as far as the border of Baghlan Province in December. One of their priority tasks was to contact the New-Zealand PRT patrol operating in Bamyan Province.

Football Afternoon in the Camp

A special kind of football-match has been staged recently in Afghanistan, between the “selected” team drawn from the personnel of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) and one of the futsal (an indoor version of the association football) teams of the town of Pol-e Khumri. Everybody had a good time during the friendly football game.

Afganisztánban járt Hende Csaba

December 10-én, szombat délután visszaérkezett a debreceni repülőtérre az a delegáció, amely Hende Csaba honvédelmi miniszter vezetésével ötnapos látogatást tett az Afganisztánban szolgáló magyar katonai alakulatoknál. A látogatás ideje alatt a honvédelmi miniszter négy helyőrségben és hét bázison nyolc parancsnoki jelentést hallgatott meg és hat állománygyűlést tartott. A program során a miniszter tájékozódott katonáink biztonsági helyzetéről és feladatairól, valamint megbeszélést folytatott a NATO afganisztáni kiképzési missziójának (NTM-A) parancsnokával, az Északi Regionális Parancsnokság parancsnokhelyettesével és magyar törzsfőnökével, valamint Baghlan tartomány kormányzójával.

The HDF 5th ‘Bocskai István’ Infantry Brigade had a tombstone erected to commemorate posthumous lieutenants Orsolya Róth and András Dálnoki, the soldiers of the unit killed in an accident in Afghanistan in May 2011.

The HUN PRT CIMIC Team Donates Medical Equipment

In the framework of the health care support program the CIMIC Team of the PRT’s 11th rotation (HUN PRT-11) delivered relief supplies to the coalminers’ central hospital in the town of Pol-e Khomri.

Zárógyakorlat a misszió előtt

Sajtónapot tartottak az MH Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoport (MH PRT) tizenkettedik váltásának misszió előtti felkészülését záró gyakorlaton. Az Afganisztánba készülő magyar kontingens az újságírókat december 8-án, csütörtökön, Hódmezővásárhelyen, az MH 5. Bocskai István Lövészdandár Zrínyi Miklós laktanyájában látta vendégül.
