Soldiers of Three Nations Go on Joint Patrol

In addition to Hungarians, there are Croatian and Albanian troops on the staff of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) CIMIC section. Croatian Capt. Slavko Horvatic, Albanian Lt. Olgert Davidhi and Hungarian Lt. Ádám Boór recently mounted a joint patrol in Jelga District, Afghanistan.

Providing Assistance After the Mine Disaster

On December 24 a serious mine disaster occurred in the Chiranak village coal mine of Nahrin District, Afghanistan. Altogether 13 miners lost their lives in the disaster. The Afghan governmental organs officially requested the commander of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT) to let the Hungarian troops join the humanitarian relief efforts in the wake of the mine disaster.

The Ones Who Did Not Have a Rest on Their Paid Leave

Lt. Sándor Babos and SFC György Kalányos serve with the International Training Department of the HDF NCO Academy, being on the staff of the Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED) training group which was accredited by NATO in April 2011. They are going to do their tours of duty until March 2012 at the ISAF Regional Command-North (ISAF RC-N) in Mazar-e Sharif, Afghanistan in C-IED training instructor officer/NCO positions.

A NATO által 2011 áprilisában akkreditált Counter Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED – nem hagyományos módon előállított és alkalmazott robbanóeszközök elleni tevékenység) kiképzőcsoport két tagja, Babos Sándor főhadnagy és Kalányos György főtörzsőrmester – akik az MH Altiszti Akadémia Nemzetközi Kiképző Alosztály állományába tartoznak – 2012 márciusáig Afganisztánban, Mazar-e Sharif-ban, az Északi Regionális Parancsnokságon (ISAF RC-N) teljesít szolgálatot C-IED-kiképzőtiszt és -tiszthelyettes beosztásokban.

Medical Aid to the Public Hospital

The chief of staff of the 11th rotation of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) continued the aid program launched in the last months by donating supplementary medical material to the director of the municipal public hospital in Pol-e Khumri, Afghanistan on 20 December. The hospital led by Head Physician Dr. Khalil Mosudia is a health care institution which is open to every resident of Baghlan Province.

Segítségnyújtás a bányaszerencsétlenség után

Súlyos bányarobbanás történt december 24-én Afganisztánban, Nahrin járás chenaraki szénbányájában. Az értesülések szerint a szerencsétlenségben tizenhárom bányász vesztette életét. A katasztrófa után az MH Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoportot humanitárius segítségnyújtási feladatra kérték fel.

Az afganisztáni Pol-e Khumri-ban, az MH Tartományi Újjáépítési Csoport táborában is megemlékeztek a karácsonyról. „A családot jelenleg a PRT jelenti számunkra, mi, katonák így alkotunk most egy nagy családot” – mondta köszöntőjében dr. Ruszin Romulusz ezredes, a PRT parancsnoka.
