Joint Patrol with Afghan Policemen

This was not the first time that the nominated personnel of the HDF Provincial Reconstruction Team (HUN PRT-11) and the Afghan National Police (ANP) had conducted a joint patrol in Pol-e Khomri, Afghanistan. Col. Dr. Romulusz Ruszin, the commander of the HUN PRT-11 intends to expand the scope of this activity through setting up joint vehicle checkpoints (VCPs) and conducting night patrols. With these measures, the Hungarian troops can help the work of the ANP, and their presence builds confidence among the local population.

Lt.-Gen. Orosz’ Visit to Afghanistan

Lt.-Gen. Zoltán Orosz, the Deputy Chief of the MoD Defence Staff paid a professional visit to Afghanistan between October 12 and 18. The visit was aimed at providing the leadership of the Hungarian Defence Forces with a precise update on the Hungarian troops’ current situation, their training, living conditions, everyday life and the tasks of the contingents. Gen. Orosz briefed the personnel of the Hungarian contingents serving with ISAF about the present state of the streamlining process.

International CIMIC Course for Troops to Deploy in Afghanistan

The Hungarian Defence Forces were running the NATO ISAF PRT CIMIC Course for the first time, between October 10 and 14 in Budapest. Organized by the HDF Civil-Military Cooperation and Psychological Operations Centre, the course involved contributions from seven nations, as well as foreign and Hungarian instructors and students.
